Welcome Home is a tableaux consisting of two sculptures of human figures in seagrass/seaweed on netting, a video of waves, fresh seaweeds and an audio poem. Arranged on a floor with projections of waves, two human figures, the mother leading a small child, crawl from what seems to be the shore out into the ocean to a voice beckoning them home. As the human figures seem to be disintegrating and the smell of seaweed is sharp, it is unsure if it is a scene of beginning or end.
Epitaph was Marie Dahl’s sculpture and a performanc-contribution to Travers at the Glyptotek in 2018. The installation was a sculpture made of seaweed and seagrass on netting. The aim was to show the human body in a material and posture contrasted to the surrounding historical marble or stone sculptures. This to highlight the fragility, temporality and mortality that comprises the human body and life.
Fragments of Truth was a site-specific tableaux in the sketching room of the National Gallery of Denmark. The tableaux included a sculpture installation as well as a video piece with an audio track of the poem Fragments of Truth in three different languages.
kra: kra crowfulness was an exhibition about the corvus genus, also known as the crow family, showing joined and individual works by Marie Dahl and Rikke Aamann. Both artists had rooms designated to their individual art, while showing joint works in a myth room and a fact room.
The exhibition was the culmination of extensive zoological, anthropological and cultural research.
